Devious Journal Entry

Tue Oct 20, 2009, 12:11 PM
  • Mood: Love
  • Listening to: Sakamoto and Sylvian - Forbidden Colours
  • Reading: Desperation by Stephen King
  • Watching: Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan
  • Playing: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
  • Eating: Nothing
  • Drinking: Whiskey
My special project is completed!...at least for now, he needs a lick of paint when i make up my mind on what colours. The Velociraptor sculpture is all baked now, and no cracks or burnt clay whatsoever! Fantastic, although i'm expecting something nasty to happen to it or something, seeing as i was expecting to have to damage control after cooking him in the oven. Maybe i'm just paranoid...
Anyways, if anyone has any ideas for a colour scheme for it, suggestions are welcome. I have a mind to research reptiles found in Mongolia and China, see what they look like and come up with something similar (as Velociraptor was found discovered in those countries, unless i'm mistaken).

I'm definitely going to do more sculpture in future...perhaps a Bowie one eventually...possibly. I've already got some ideas rollin' around the ol' noggin at the moment, but when i'll be able to sit down and make another sculpture i'm not sure. So many things to do, so much art, and so little time. Got to finish my brother's birthday present, and some commissions to get done before Christmas. Then stop-motion animation...ah so much to do!

Speaking of Christmas, it is creeping up way way way too quickly, where has the year gone?!

My brother's band, Twilight Green, are entering the finals for the UK to USA contest in Manchester on the 1st November - if there's anyone around Manchester on that day, and you like music, please go! It is also going to be televised live on Propeller TV (Sky Channel 195). I'm so proud of my brother, he's worked so hard and done so well, i hope he and his mates win!

On a side note, i recently found out my young cousin in New Zealand likes David Bowie's music - i was so proud when i heard, so proud. He has got his own band together as well, i hope he learns some Bowie songs :D

Oh and i see my Labyrinth - Jareth and Sarah drawing has reached a thousand favourites, i never even thought my artwork could ever get that many favourites, thankyou so much everybody! :glomp: However, i feel its about time it stepped down from being my featured deviation, so David Bowie VII is in its place now

For being only twenty-one your portrait art is really advanced.
