Oh woah Bloody fantastic, as usual. And I know what you mean by all that life stuff - It's been a rocky few weeks, and I haven't had nearly enough to time to do some of the things I've wanted to either. But things always get better, thank goodness nothing lasts forever in this case. Again I marvel at the detail you put into these drawings, they're so beautifully done - but I just don't have the patience or time these days, it seems. I haven't drawn Bowie in a while. It makes me sad. But you continue to inspire me with each new thing you do, and I hope that I'll find the motivation to draw more again. Brilliant work, and thanks again for your inspiration - I'll be off to draw Bowie then
They are getting better, and I hope they are for you too. The holidays are coming up, so that's something to look forward to! (And Christmas fan art to attend to ) In case I don't hear from you from now until then, as it is quite a busy time (what I would give to have time just to sit down and properly draw!), Happy Christmas, and I hope you have a safe and enjoyable holiday.
The black in the background is simply 0.7 mechanical pencil, the same pencil i use for the rest of the drawing. All i do is apply much more pressure and make sure i shade very very slowly so as not to make it scratchy. It took a long time but it came out pretty well.
Thankyou my friend, i think that is the perfect description for how he looks there...i mean i think sometimes i pick out too much detail and perhaps emphasise age where perhaps it isn't actually so apparent, but what you say makes him seem more, well, soulful
I can't stop looking at the nose. The structure of it. . . is just perfect. Something about the left side of his chin, though. I think the angle may be off a bit? Regardless, it's beautiful work, as always.
Thankyou! And the left side of his chin? Hmm...i shall have to take another gander at the reference picture i had, it has been a while since i drew this now so maybe i'll be able to see what you're getting at and rectify it
